| A Note from Chrys!
Here is where we express ourselves to you the reader so that you can
get to know us better and feel confident in entrusting your precious gift
of singing to us!
Those of you who know me and have been with me for a while already know
that my entire teaching method is based on honesty...with your audience
and with yourself. The anecdotes that I write about in the newsletter
and my own personal family issues are given to you because I couldn't
very well insist that you be true to your performance and express yourself
totally, if I were not willing to reveal myself to you, my readers and
students.
On Sept 12, 2001, for example, I wrote about my friend John who was
a Fire Captain in Brooklyn, and who was lost that awful day before. That
was when I added the
"NYC-Tribute"
page to
New York. It's here and I keep it here as a reminder and a celebration
of life.
I've done the same for my friend
Hank, whose
drawings of me are all over this site.
Additionally, I have added a few sample songs from a CD
I made a few years ago. I continue to sing as a celebration of my gifts,
which I did not create, but for which I am thankful, and I also sing to
express negative feelings that might be too painful to talk about. I
always tell my students, "Pour your pain into your songs...it's
therapeutic and makes for a dynamic performance."
